Private prisons to hold detainees is a black stain on the US. It is a sign that our country is no longer a democracy and the profiteers are using human beings like objects to get rich. We as taxpayers are transferring the wealth of the people to rich corporations whose job is to jail the innocent who are fleeing persecution, violence and hunger in their home countries just as our grandparents did. Despite the many rules and humiliations at Ellis Island there is no comparison to what is being devised for the people today. This is a planned policy of cruelty, humiliation and incarceration for people who are not criminals. It is outright racism and no different from what fascist policy did to the Jews. It is sickening, illegal and the owners of these centers are the real criminals!!

Think racism and the sale of slaves. This inhuman treatment is in our time and it’s our responsibility to do all we can to end it.

Instead of dismissing this problem—immigrants for sale to private prisons—as though it won’t affect us, we should think of something to try and help solve this problem to fully serve everyone equally—illegal or not. Illegal immigrants came to The United States with a goal in their mind, mainly those who do come, wants a better life. We as “American citizens”, I feel should not take their natural born rights away in a pursuit of happiness in life.

It’s time to develop a new ideological construct of identity that transcends the national boundaries. It is not “us and them,” they are not the “Other,” we are all citizens of this world. We need to unite as a global community and recognize that this is not an issue of a whole within our borders, this is an issue of a whole within our system. We need to develop a system which is welcoming of transnational migrants, allowing anyone the opportunity to prosper wherever they choose to live.

The reason this is going on is because we are allowing it. One person could make a difference but together we could change this. I vote!

I am pro immigration because we are all immigrants. We are all human.

Discrimination should not exist. The problem with the government is that they believe that they are superior and allow their authority to turn them into heartless monsters. They are the problem! Not undocumented persons that are looking for a better life. They deserve that opportunity. The U.S. government only cares about money. What happened to “by the people…for the people?” Even our founding fathers were selfish. This cycle needs to end!
